Fire Resist

Also known as: Fire Resistance

Fire Resistance is a defensive attribute, and affects a character’s ability to mitigate damage from incoming Fire based attacks or spells. While Fire Resistance sounds similar to Magic Resistance, it is more akin to Block or Parry, as it reduces the damage players receive from Fire based attacks and spells, rather than preventing the damage all together. As players increase their Fire Resistance, they will receive less damage from Fire based attacks and spells.

Fire Resistance is a situational attribute. Fire Resistance can be useful when fighting enemies or players that inflict damage with Fire based attacks and spells, though it provides no benefit versus other types of damage.

A high Fire Resistance attribute may be important in certain situations, such as when fighting a Named Monster or player that uses Fire based attacks and spells.
