I'm a Daeva of Zephyr in the service of Empyrean Lord Vaizel, but I came here at Lord Ariel's request to investigate before the Hymn of Aion Legion arrived.

The Aetheric Field, created by Empyrean Lord Siel during the Cataclysm, protected Iluma until recently. All of Atreia used to be like Iluma a thousand years ago.

Still, even this region has changed since the Aetheric Field fell. I believe it's due to the Tower of Eternity fragments scattered all over the land. Intriguing, yes?

"Sort of. What else?"

Ho-ho, well, it gets better. Tower of Eternity fragments are composed of higher-dimensional Aether aggregates. They release highly concentrated Aether into their surroundings as they slowly disintegrate over time.

In a land this rich with Aether, a number of mysterious phenomena occur. Geysers might suddenly erupt out of nowhere. I've seen the formation of peculiar clouds, or abnormal energies that enable flight in previously no-fly areas.

Sometimes, these phenomena work to our advantage. I recommend you experience such wonders firsthand!

"That's interesting."

I'll say! Oh, and we just discovered a new kind of rift in this region. They're smaller rifts that open randomly at certain locations... But you'd better hear about that from Ador.

You can find Ador in the village square. I'd suggest you go and have a chat with him.

"Thanks for the info."

Oh? Volter sent you to me to learn about the unusual rifts in this region?

Hm, that's a first. He loves to expound upon subjects he knows nothing about.

As you've probably heard, our scouts have reported small rifts opening at random. In Atreia and Balaurea, rifts always open at the same time and location, and remain open for some time, but these rifts are different.

"Tell me more."

You know that rifts were originally created by large amounts of Aether discharged during the Cataclysm, right?

These new rifts are very small, barely usable by six people at a time, and also open for very short periods of time.

We hypothesize that our proximity to the Tower of Eternity causes these smaller, more erratic rifts, but our investigation hasn't yielded many results.

"I bet Volter could have told me that."

Don't get snarky! I'm the specialist here.

I have no time for your lip. If you want to know about these new rifts, you should speak to Akuaris.

Akuaris was one of the first to come here and join the scouts. Now stop wasting my precious time, there is research to be done.

"Sorry, I'm going."

You're learning about the features of this region before starting your missions?

That's very admirable of you! Most Daevas just rush in recklessly, looking for a fight. I wish more soldiers valued knowledge.

The Hymn of Aion Legion acts without thinking, barging through Iluma before we can even study it! They're a bunch of absentminded knuckleheads.

"Soldiers aren't all that bad."

Yes, yes, you're right. Ah, I digress. You're just so easy to talk to, [%username]. Anyway, I've made yet another discovery about this region. Its ecology changes according to the weather or climate.

The types of enemies that appear vary from day to night, or even when it rains. Sometimes, a no-fly area becomes flyable when the flow of Aether shifts.

So please be especially cautious when you investigate this region.

"That was very useful information."

"Right."

Well, you sure know how to make a researcher feel special. Thanks for taking an interest in our work.

Ah! I wonder how to travel between areas in this region. There are shortcuts.

Let me take a short breather, and I'll tell you about them in depth.

Completion:

Brigade General Ilisia said that it would help to learn about the region before starting on a mission, and suggested seeing Daeva of Zephyr Volter.

Volter explained that Tower of Eternity fragments cause unique and mysterious phenomena to occur in the region, and said you should keep that in mind when you go exploring.

Ador told you about the peculiar rifts that open in this region.

Lastly, Akuaris described how different enemies appear according to time and environment.
