The Axis of the World: The Tower of Eternity

Thousands of years ago, the almighty and omniscient Aion created a world that was filled with warm, soft light and Aether.

The name of this beautiful world which thrived under Aion's blessing was Atreia. This world was perfect and full of harmony. It lacked nothing.

The axis which held this world in balance was the Tower of Eternity. It was the pillar on which Atreia rested, crafted of the same high-quality Aether Crystals that we commonly associate with Aion himself, the creator of our world.

The Destroyed World and the Abyss

As we all know, a Cataclysm occurred in Atreia a thousand years ago.

The Tower of Eternity - and thus the axis of the world - broke into two pieces when it was attacked by the arrogant, barbaric Balaur. Atreia was split into Asmodae and Elysea.

The rift in the tower allowed the Aether and thus the source of all life and all energy to escape unhindered. This splitting also led to an unusual resonance in the Aether, which led to the creation of the Abyss.

A great deal of Aether was lost during this process. Scholars agreed that, sooner or later, this would lead to the destruction of the entire world.

This continuous loss of Aether could only be curbed by eliminating one of the two halves of the tower. Therefore, it is vital that our opponents' side of the Tower of Eternity be completely destroyed.

The Rift in the Ruined Tower

We have long searched for a way to infiltrate into enemy territory in order to destroy their half of the Tower of Eternity.

The best route seemed to lead over the Abyss and the rifts in the Abyss. We were able to use these rifts in the Abyss to travel back and forth between Asmodae and Elysea.

However, these rifts in the Abyss are very unstable, so using them to transport large troops is out of the question. So we had to look for a safer, more effective path into enemy territory.

We found out that we could use the Tower of Eternity.

You can travel through a rift from our side of the destroyed tower to the other side of the tower.

To the Tower of Eternity

After discovering that they could use the rift in the tower to enter enemy territory, our scientists developed the following plan.

1. We enter the Tower of Eternity on our side.

2. We climb to the top of the Tower of Eternity.

3. We travel to the other side through the rift at the top of the tower.

But the most difficult part is Step 1: entering the Tower of Eternity on our side.

After the Cataclysm, Lady Siel and Lord Israphel used their life energy to erect a protective shield around the tower to keep it safe. This shield cannot be penetrated, even from the heart of Atreia.

Postscript

According to rumors, this protective shield around the Tower of Eternity has supposedly been growing weaker and weaker over the years. That's why we are hoping that we'll be able to enter the tower very soon.

We must be on our guard when this time has come. We can't just sit idly by and let everyone else decide which side will dominate the other half of Atreia.

Whether we march towards destruction or fight to survive it - the choice is ours.
