8. The Forgotten Nameless Hero

Preface

This book is part of a collection of children's songs that were compiled by the great historian Andersando during his travels through Atreia.

The reader should be aware that some of the content has been lost over time or may vary due to different translations from the Ancient Atreian.

Chapter 1: The Birth

The deepest dark and brightest light rolled smoothly around.

The deepest dark and brightest light rolled smoothly around.

The Creator opened his eyes, looked up and then down.

Thus he created the blue sky, the green earth and its clear seas.

Thus he created the blue sky, the green earth and its clear seas.

Selected by a gesture of the Creature's mighty hand,

A new-born hero, bright-winged and strong in our land.

A new-born hero, bright-winged and strong in our land.

Chapter 2: The Ascension

The eyes of our hero were as clear as morning dew.

He spread his wings in the wind and knew what to do.

The earth gave the hero a powerful foothold.

It held firm and resisted for all to behold.

He unsheathed his sword and flew into the sky

To face the Balaur with a gleam in his eye.

His blade scintillated in a deadly dance.

His blade scintillated in a deadly dance.

Chapter 3: The Achievements

Shrill screaming trailed all of the hero's fast swings.

He whipped a harsh wind with the force of his wings.

He flew daringly into the ranks of the Balaur,

As bright and as fair as a streaking lodestar.

But such glory is sadly so quickly defiled,

And the heart of our hero was slyly beguiled.

The hero's heart soon filled with arrogance.

The hero's heart soon filled with arrogance.

Chapter 4: The Downfall

(missing)

(Translator's Note: Unfortunately, the first part was lost.)

Long ago, at the beginning of time, Aion chose a hero.

His name was forgotten long ago.

The hero's strength could not keep arrogance at bay for long.

And this arrogance is what called down the Cataclysm.

The world was divided and lost its unity, hidden.

Who would remember a fallen hero for long?

And so the hero is gradually forever forgotten.

And so the hero is gradually forever forgotten.
